AI-driven Elimination of Sustainment Risks & Readiness Risks in mission-critical software systems

Tuesday July 22nd  from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM MT

Every codebase carries sustainment and readiness risks—especially in teams with rotating personnel. Software work is invisible to those managing it, and you can’t manage what you can’t see or understand. Sustainment is at risk when successors can’t safely update hard-to-maintain code. Readiness is at risk when knowledge is concentrated in departing developers, making critical components untouchable. These single points of failure directly threaten mission sustainment and readiness.

This session presents an approach proven across 10M+ lines of mission-critical USG code. It reveals code unlikely to survive turnover and surfaces readiness risks when continuity depends on a single developer. Leaders will gain the ability to enforce sustainment standards before delivery, eliminate disruptions from unmaintainable code, and maintain operational readiness as developers rotate. Attendees will walk away with a method to gain immediate visibility into at-risk code and developers—along with clear actions to eliminate those risks.

Achieving Product Team Agility: Empowering Cross-Functional Individuals with AI

Monday June 30th from 7:30 AM - 8:00 AM ET

As software complexity has grown 50x since the inception of Agile and Scrum, the next evolution in agility demands a shift from cross-functional teams to cross-functional individuals—professionals who blend technical expertise, product thinking, and collaboration skills. This evolution is now highly achievable with the advent of AI tools that accelerate skill growth and amplify individual impact. Drawing from strategies I've successfully implemented with my own engineering teams, this talk will explore:

  1. A spectrum of product team topologies, ranging from the least agile to the most agile, and how shifting toward cross-functional individuals accelerates agility.

  2. How cross-functional individuals reduce handoffs, accelerate decisions, and enhance team responsiveness, enabling smaller, more efficient teams by collapsing traditional role silos.

  3. How AI tools empower lesser technical staff to operate with near Tech Lead-level insights for effective technical team management and engagement.

  4. Practical strategies for using AI to help team members become cross-functional individuals, based on real-world experience.

Evolving the Engineer: A Roadmap for CTOs and Engineering VPs

Wednesday May 28th (Live) & June 4th (Virtual) 2025 from 10:30 PM - 10:55 AM PT

AI is here—and it’s transforming software engineering faster than most leaders are prepared for. GenAI tools like Copilot and Cursor are boosting productivity by automating routine coding tasks, but they’re also contributing to significant layoffs. Pure software engineering roles are under threat, and leaders urgently need a plan to evolve their teams.

In this talk, Andrew Park—a longtime Engineering and Product Leader—delivers a clear, field-tested roadmap for evolving engineers in the AI era. He shows how to help your teams harness AI for speed—while leveling up in the areas GenAI can’t touch: product thinking, system design, craftsmanship, maintainability, and the collaboration skills needed to work across product, design, customers, and dependent teams.

You’ll walk away with a practical strategy for transforming engineering roles and building smaller, more capable teams—enabling your organization to meet executive demands to do more with less, without sacrificing product quality or long-term agility. This is how you secure engineering careers—and your product’s future—in an AI-driven world.

Product Team Agility in the Age of AI

Friday April 11th, 2025 from 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM ET

AI is fundamentally changing what’s possible for modern product organizations. With the right tools and prompting skills, empowered Product Managers can now prototype entire experiences—from UX flows to working functionality—with little to no engineering involvement. This dramatically accelerates early validation, reduces time-to-insight, and lowers the cost of reaching MVP. But with this new power comes new responsibility. AI not only boosts productivity—it also amplifies the rate at which technical debt is generated. The resulting code is often bloated, inconsistent, and fragile unless actively refactored. To sustain long-term agility and innovation, organizations must evolve how they think about MVP development—incorporating refactoring cycles early and often, even during initial delivery.
